The Queens Players presents

Shakespeare's Richard III
February 27th - March 15th

The Queens Players began their 2013-14 season with a thrilling Midsummer, and are looking forward to presenting a Punk-infused version of this classic history play featuring Shakespeare's iconic villain, Richard III.

A scheming sociopath grabs the crown through fratricide, but such extreme measures cannot bring lasting pleasure. Indeed, Richard meets a famously inglorious end at Bosworth.

In this production, The Queens Players substitute the storied courts of England for the gloomier confines of a punk club in England circa 1980s. The character of Richard III will be played by The Queens Players' Artistic Director Richard Mazda, who comes to the project straight after a homerun performance of Fagin in the Secret's sold out hit run of Oliver!. Alberto Bonilla, The Queens Players' Associate Artistic Director, will direct.

This season we are pleased to announce collaborations with famed fine artist and designer Luba Lukova and Project Runway finalist and costume designer, Sue Waller.
